Remote Gear Rental

Let our financial pain be your sonic gain. One of the most inexpensive ways to up your sound quality without breaking the bank is to pass your recorded signals through another professional’s gear.

Let’s face it: no matter how good our home studios sound today, there is always that one (or two or three or…) piece of gear that we wish we could use, but can’t justify the price of. Well, the internet comes in to save the day again. We’ve done this as a customer ourselves, and as our gear list grows, we’re happy to be able to add this service to what we can provide.

It’s simple really: you send us your recorded audio files, and we run them through whatever chain of outboard gear you would like. You also get access to our experience with that equipment; if we think there’s a better unit or chain to get the sound you’re after, we’ll try it and let you bet the judge.

The applications here are endless, but a few stand out. Running your lead vocal through preamp saturation and compression can give that ‘pop’ and character need to pick the whole song up. The same idea can be applied to drums as well, or you could have us straight up SMASH your drum bus for you to blend in during the mix, a la parallel compression. In that train of thought, running whole sections through faux bus chains can help glue your song together as well.

If you’re not sure how exactly how to achieve your sonic goals, shoot us an email. With our powers combined, we can take what you’ve tracked so far and elevate it to that finished product sound we’re all after.
